Diana Spulber ha presentato il contributo “Connecting health, sport and education: University of Genoa for a sustainable and inclusive society through international cooperation”, dedicato al ruolo della cooperazione internazionale nel collegare questi ambiti e promuovere sostenibilità e inclusione.

UniGe is improving its international dimension in the Central Asia countries thanks to the participation to the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference held in Ashgabat from 9th to 12th October, «Health care, Education and Sport in the era of the revival of the new epoch of the Powerful state» (https://saglykhm.gov.tm/en/halkara-sergi-we-ylmy-maslahat), by Diana Spulber, in her position as Rector’s delegate for international cooperation.

During the event, Spulber presented her contribution, “Connecting Health, Sport and Education: University of Genoa for a Sustainable and Inclusive Society through International Cooperation”.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the country’s Academy of Sciences. Universities and higher education stakeholders from the hosting country, foreign companies and universities, country ministries, private enterprises, and entrepreneurs took part in the event. European Union institutions were represented by universities from different countries, mainly from Germany.

With Italy, the other participating university in addition to UniGe, was the “Università per Stranieri di Perugia” which has a consolidated presence in Turkmenistan through the “Centro di Certificazione di lingua italiana”. Moreover, a delegation of the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan was present, with His Excellence the Ambassador and the Deputy Head of Mission Carmelo Leo.

The participation of Spulber was carried out as a dissemination action for the Erasmus+ KA2 CBHE project “ESGCA - Environmental Social Governance in Central Asia”, a project running from December 2024 until November 2027 and coordinated by UniGe.

The key elements of the ESGCA project are:

  • the partnership composition between academic and non-academic bodies, useful to improve the interaction among different frameworks;
  • a comprehensive overview of the keywords of the project (Environmental Social Governance) and the related multi-disciplinarity of the project topics;
  • added value by the geographical coverage of project involving all the five countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The ESGCA project, in benefit of UniGe by the European Commission-granted actions, represents the consolidation of a long-standing and fruitful cooperation with all five countries of the Central Asia region, which began in 2006.

It is wished that the presence of UniGe to the event, in the framework of the “ESGCA” project, will contribute to the successful achievement and the practical implementation of sustainability and environmental policies and to the contribution of UniGe to achieving the 2030 Sustainability Development Goals.
